My City: Guide to Boston

Boston Skyline

Happy 2012 everyone!

In the spirit of the New Year, I've complied my thoughts on our beautiful city.  Be sure to put these on your list of things to do, see, and eat for this year!

The first place I take a visitor from out of town is The Boston Public Library to show them the best architecture in the city.

When I crave lobster mac and cheese I always go to Abe & Louie's on Boylston Street.

To escape the return of college students filling Newbury Street I head to The Public Gardens with a good book.

If I want to play tennis I go to The Boston Common and wait for one of the two courts to open up.

For complete quiet, I can hide away at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain.

If you come to my city, get your picture taken with Wally The Green Monster.

If you have to order one thing off the menu from Sorellina's it has to be The Kobe Meatballs.

South End Formaggio is my one-stop shop for amazing cheeses, meats, and specialty foods.

Locals know to skip The Top Of The Hub and check out No. 9 Park instead.

When I’m feeling cash-strapped I go to 163 Vietnamese Sandwiches in Chinatown for an amazing BBQ beef bahn mi.

For a huge splurge I go to Menton, Barbara Lynch's masterpiece restaurant.

Photo ops in my city include the city skyline and the best vantage point is The Skywalk at The Prudential Center.

If my city were a celebrity it’d be Harrison Ford.  Less popular in it's old age, still extremely cool, and packs a punch when you least expect it.

The most random thing about my city is that Happy Hour is illegal.

My city has the most sports obsessed men.

My city has the most fit women.

In my city, an active day outdoors involves a walking The Freedom Trail

My city’s best museum is Museum of Fine Arts.

My favorite jogging/walking route is a run around the Charles River.

For a night of dancing, go to The Alley. Or, for live music, check out The Beehive

South Street Diner is the spot for late-night eats.

To find out what’s going on at night and on the weekends, read The Phoenix.

You can tell a lot about my city by the number of movies they shoot here.

You can tell if someone is from my city if they have the obvious Boston accent.

In the spring you should take a stroll down Marlborough Street.

In the summer you should head to a performance of Shakespeare in the Common

In the fall you should take a quick trip up to Salem and check out Halloween.

In the winter you should stay inside - it's cold!

A hidden gem in my city is The Courtyard of the Boston Public Library.

For a great breakfast joint try S&S Restaurant and Deli in Cambridge.

Don’t miss the Saint Anthony's festival in the North End.

Just outside my city, you can visit the The Martha's Vineyard beach where they shot the movie "Jaws".

The best way to see my city is by calling Accent Limousine Service and getting a historic tour of the city.

If my city were a pet it would be a bit of a bulldog.

If I didn’t live in a city, I’d live in a rural village in Tuscany.

The best book about my city is "All Souls" by Michael Patrick Macdonald.

When I think about my city, the song that comes to mind is "Dirty Water".

If you have kids, you won’t want to miss The Little Ducklings in The Public Gardens.

"Reversing the curse" could only happen in my city.

Do you have any tips for me?????  What did I leave out????  Whatever you plan on doing in our beautiful city, give Accent Limousine a call and they'll give you the VIP treatment for all of your transportation needs.

Happy 2012!  Let's make this year a good one!!
