Waterside Dining and Fun at Marina Bay in Quincy, MA

This past weekend was absolutely glorious. Friday night my husband and I went out for date night to Sel De La Terre (the escargot app was insanely good and the burger is the best in the city), Saturday afternoon we played 90 minutes of tennis in the park, Sunday morning we got the city's best breakfast sandwiches at Mike & Patty's and by 3:00pm on Sunday afternoon we were in the car in search of a Lobster BLT. Destination: Marina Bay.
Marina Bay is only a ten minute drive from Boston and once you arrive you feel like you're on vacation. The sun is shining, the boats are rocking, and being on the water always just seems to bring peace. Just look at this picture above that I took on Sunday night, would you imagine this was in Quincy? We were lucky to immediately grab an outdoor table at Captain Fishbones and from there, the day escaped us. Corona's were drank, lobster was eaten, our friends trickled in to meet us, we watched an amazing sunset, and before we knew it... it was 10:00pm.
Everyone has their favorite outdoor dining/drinking spot and Marina Bay is definitely ours. We've been here countless times and each time we come we have such a wonderful time. It's also a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Here is a google map to Marina Bay and here are some hot tips:
- The best time to go is a little bit earlier in the day. If we had arrived at 6:00pm, we would've had to wait a for a table. Most people make Marina Bay a destination, so once they get there, they're probably there for a few hours.
- There are at least six different restaurants so take your time walking the boardwalk and check out all of the different menus before you make your dining decision. They serve up some great seafood around the pier.
- The Waterclub is a great place to watch a Sox game in the sun. They have an outside bar and plenty of outdoor televisions.
- Skip dessert at the restaurant and head to the walk up counter at Cream & Sugar for some yummy refreshing ice cream.
- If you're looking for Boston bachelorette party ideas, head on over to the Marina Bay Ocean Club for a wild night of fun under the stars. While not a place to unwind with a cold glass of wine and good conversation, this 62,000 square foot venue is the place to bring your friends and cause some trouble.
So next time you're looking for something to do on a beautiful hot sunny day, head on down to Marina Bay. Just be sure to save me a seat!
